Another line has been drawn in the sand this morning as gold exceeded £3000/oz for the first time.

The morning gold fix for October 8th 2025 was over £3008/oz. It was only in late September 2024 that we reported the £2000/oz mark being breached, meaning that gold has increased in value by 50% in twelve months. Will it reach the next milestone of £100,000/kg or £100/gram?

Both silver and platinum continue to make headway too with silver peaking so far at £36.18/oz and platinum at £1214/oz. It is yet to be seen whether any Gaza peace deal will have affect on these prices amidst continuing global geopolitical and economic uncertainty.
