Recent Metal Price Peaks
The recent high metal price spikes appear to be over, at least temporarily.
Gold reached an all-time record high price of £1929.12/oz (£62,022.65/kg) on the afternoon of Friday April 12th or US$2401.50/oz.
On the same day, silver peaked at £23.28/oz (£748.47/kg) or US$29.025/oz.
This was the afternoon prior to the significant April 13th escalation in Middle East tensions when Iran launched a mass drone and missile attack on Israel. With Iranian retaliation imminent, nervousness in the markets was rife and safe-haven buying of precious metals was considered the prudent action.
Precious metal prices remain at a very high level with fine gold remaining above £1800/oz and fine silver above £21/oz.
